MTN mPulse website is an online platform for children and teenagers in Nigeria to learn and excel in their academics, develop useful life skills, discover all the latest local and global opportunities relevant to them and play intellectual games, enabling them to shine and become all they want to be.

Q. Who can join the mPulse website?

A. The website is mainly for primary, junior secondary and senior secondary school students. Parents can also join the platform to find out about free learning resources and opportunities available for their kids, monitor their children’s activities on the website, recommend education and games services to their children, and get our Parental Control service to track and control their child’s device and Internet use.

Q. Sounds Interesting! I am Student, how do I sign up to the mPulse website?

A. Easy peasy! Follow these steps to register as a student:

  • Type the URL www.mtnonline.com/mpulse in your browser
  • When you click on any item on the homepage, the Student Login form appears.
  • Click on Don’t have an account? Create one and enter all the information required to register.
Q. What about parents? How can a parent sign up to the mPulse website?

A. Simple! Follow these steps to sign up as a parent:

  • Type the URL www.mtnonline.com/mpulse in your browser
  • Click on Parents, click here to get to the parent home page.
  • When you click on any item on the parent homepage, the Parent Login form appears.
  • Click on Don’t have an account? Create one and enter all the information required to register.
Q. Cool! But will I be charged for signing up to the mPulse website?

A. No, sign up to mPulse website is totally free!

Q. I’m a student, what activities can I do on the mPulse website?

A. Lots of learning and fun activities, including:

  • Tutorial lessons on all primary, junior secondary (JSS) and senior secondary (SSS) school subjects
  • Past Questions and Answers on Common Entrance, JSCE, JAMB, WAEC and NECO
  • Latest competitions and opportunities for primary and secondary school students
  • Free academic and skill development resources
  • YouTube Tutorial videos on wide variety of topics: Technology, Programming, Leadership, Vocational Skills, Entrepreneurship, Language, History and Culture, etc.

Q. How can I update my profile on the mPulse website?

A. Log in as a student, click the dropdown menu menu you see on the top right. Then click the first item My Profile, make the changes you want and click the Update Profile button when you are done.

Q. I want to link with my parent on the mPulse website, how can I do this?

A. Log in as a student, click the dropdown menu menu you see on the top right. Then go to the second item My Parents and click Add/Delete Parent, click Add Parent button and fill your parent’s details to connect with them.

Q. So can I access other Youtube content outside the mPulse YouTube content?

A. No, unfortunately. The Youtube content on MTN mPulse website have been carefully selected for you, you can only access these content on the website. We regularly update our YouTube content so there is always something new for you when you visit the site.

Q. I am a parent, how do I support my child’s learning experience on the mPulse website?

A. As a parent, you can do the following on the mPulse website:

  • Link with your child
  • View your linked child’s activities on the website
  • Recommend education and games service of your choice to your child
  • Pay for airtime and data for your child
  • Get education and games services for your child
  • Monitor and Control what websites and apps your child can access using the Parental Control service
Q. I am interested in the Parental Control service, what is it about?

A. MTN Parental Control service allows parents and guardians to set defined rules that will determine the level of internet content access their child/wards have with the use of their phones.

Q. Is the MTN Parental Control service available to all customers?

A. Yes, the MTNN Parental Control Service is available to all MTNN customers.

Q. How do I activate the MTN Parental Control service?

A. To activate the Parental control service, simply do the following:

  • Dial *344*6# and select the 30 Days Free Trial Service.
  • You will receive an SMS with your unique activation code to download the App
  • Download the Kaspersky Safe Kids App on your phone and register your account with the activation code.
  • In addition, download the app on your child’s phone and setup your child’s account with the email address you used to register your account.
Q. What are the benefits of Parental control service?

A. You will enjoy the following:

  • Monitor your Child/Wards internet activities and protect them from harmful websites and Apps.
  • Monitor your Child/Wards Facebook activities.
  • Track your Child/Wards location real-time.
  • Monitor your Child/Wards battery level.
  • Manage Child/Wards screen time and use of Applications.
  • Monitor your child’s calls/SMS
Q. How many child/wards can I register on my account?

A. You can register up to 6 Children on your account.

Q. How much will I be charged for the Parental Control Service?

A. Your first subscription to the parental control service will be FREE (Also called the freemium). After which, subsequent subscriptions will be charged at N250 for 30 days.

Q. What is the validity of the Free Trial subscription?

A. Your Free Trial subscription will be valid for 30 days.

Q. How many times can I enjoy Free (Freemium) Trial service?

A. You will be able to enjoy the free trial service (freemium) only ONCE on your number.

Q. Will I be able subscribe to the paid plan while enjoying the free trial?

A. No please, free trial must expire before customer can subscribe to paid service

Q. Will my Free Trial service auto-renew into the paid plan after 30 Days?

A. No, your free trial service will not auto-renew BUT will expire after 30 days. After which, you can subscribe to the paid service.

Q. What happens if I do not subscribe to the paid plan after it expires?

A. You will be moved to the limited mode plan and will only be able to use the following services;

Q. While subscribing to the paid plan, I received a pop-up menu to choose either One-off or Auto-renew option. What does this mean?

A. The Pop-up menu is a new feature that allows you to set your subscription on One-off or Auto-renew purchase:

  • One-Off Purchase means that your subscription will not renew after expiry.
  • Auto-renew Purchase means your subscription will auto-renew after expiry.
Q. If I exit the Pop-Up Menu or it times out before selecting an option, will my subscription be on One-off or Auto-renew option?

A. If you exit the Pop-Up Menu or it times out before selecting an option, your subscription will be on One-off purchase. This means that your service will not auto-renew upon expiry.

Q. If my subscription is on One-off option, will I be able to opt in for Auto-renewal?

A. Yes, you will be able to opt in for Auto-renewal by dialling *344*6*3#.
Example: If you have an active 30 Day subscription that is on One-off option, you will be able to opt in for auto renewal by dialling *344*6*3#.

Q. Will I be able to cancel auto-renewal anytime?

A. Yes, you will be able to cancel auto-renewal on your bundle anytime by dialing *344*6*4#.

Q. How do I check my subscription status?

A. You will be able to check your subscription status by dialing *344*6*5#.

Q. Will I be able to use my subscription to access the internet?

A. No, you will NOT be able to use your subscription to access to the internet. To access the internet, you will have to purchase a data bundle or browse directly from your main account.

Q. Can I subscribe to multiple paid plan at the same time?

A. No, you will NOT be able to subscribe to multiple paid plan at the same time. You will only to enjoy one paid plan for 30 days after which you can renew your subscription.

Q. How will I monitor my Child’s internet activities and protect them from harmful sites?

A. Simply, login to the Kaspersky Safe Kids App in parent mode and click “Settings” to activate the “web filtering Mode” which allow you to filter contents your child/ward can see. You can also enter the website address of the sites you do not want your child/ward to access.

Q. How can I track my Child/Wards internet activities on Facebook?

A. Simply, do the following;

  • Login to the Kaspersky Safe Kids App in parent mode.
  • Click on the “Social Networks” tab and add your Child’s Facebook email address.
  • An email will be sent to your child’s email to confirm, click “Turn On Protection” and sign into their Facebook Account.
Q. Will I be notified if my Child/Ward attempts to browse harmful/unwanted sites?

A. Yes, you will be notified. Simply, login to the Kaspersky Safe Kids App in parent mode and click “Settings” then click on “Notify About Searching on Restricted Themes”.

Q. What is the difference between the free service (freemium) and paid service (premium)?

A. The difference between the free and the paid service can be found below:

A. MTN mPulse Plan is a basic prepaid plan that allows Pre-Teen and Teen customers between the age bracket of 9 and 15 years enjoy, Special data bundles, Special Birthday reward, lots of other exciting offers and National calls at 15.36k/secs

Q. Who can migrate to MTN mPulse?

A. ALL MTNN Pre-Teen and Teen customers between the age bracket of 9 and 15 years can migrate to MTN mPulse tariff plan.

Q. How do I migrate to MTN mPulse Plan?

A. To migrate to mPulse plan, simply do any of the following:

  • Dial *344*1#
  • Send ‘mPulse’ to 131
  • Download MyMTNApp, go to tariff plan and select mPulse
Q. What do I stand to enjoy if I migrate to mPulse tariff plan?

A. You will enjoy the following:

  • WhatsApp bonus on first recharge in a month.
  • Data Bonus on recharge.
  • N200 airtime reward on your birthday
  • Weekly or Monthly Airtime/Data allowance from linked Parent
  • Special Data bundles to browse on mPulse Web and App.

A. You will NOT be charged for migrating into mPulse tariff plan if it is your first migration in 30 days. Subsequent migrations within the same month will attract N100 migration fee.

Q. How much will I be charged for International call/SMS?

A. Your International calls and SMS will be charged at standard international rates.

Q. How can I recharge airtime on my mPulse plan?

A. Customers will be able to recharge their mPulse account balance by dialling *555*PIN#.

Q. How can I check my mPulse airtime balance?

A. Customer will be able to check their airtime balance by dialling *556#.

Q. How do I subscribe to the mPulse weekly and 14-Day special data bundle plan?

A. You can subscribe to any of the mPulse Special Data bundle by doing any of the following:

  • For Weekly bundle of 200MB, send 350 to 344
  • For 14-Day bundle of 700MB, send 351 to 344
  • Dial *344# and then, select data bundle of choice from the menu.
  • From mPulse website, from the drop down menu of student dashboard, select data bundle of your choice from the list of bundles.
Q. I just received a pop-up menu to choose either One-off or Recurrent option after activating a data bundle. What does this mean?

A. The Pop-up menu is a new feature that allows you to set your data bundle on One-off or Recurrent purchase:

  • One-Off Purchase means that your data bundle will not renew after expiry.
  • Recurrent Purchase means your data bundle will auto-renew after expiry.
Q. If I exit the Pop-Up Menu or it times out before selecting an option, will my data bundle be on One-off or Recurrent option?

A. If you exit the Pop-Up Menu or it times out before selecting an option, your data bundle will be on One-off purchase. This means that your data bundle will not auto-renew upon expiry.

Q. If my data bundle is on One-off option, will I be able to opt in for Recurrent option or renew the bundle?

A. Yes, you will be able to opt in for Recurrent option or renew the bundle by sending R+bundle code to 131. Example: If you have an active 700MB daily bundle that is on One-off option, you will be able to renew it by sending R350 to 131.

Q. Will I be able to cancel auto-renewal anytime?

A. Yes, you will be able to cancel auto-renewal on your bundle anytime by sending the opt-out keyword to 131. To opt-out of auto-renewal of the 700MB mPulse data plan, text NO351 to 344. To opt-out of auto-renewal of the 200MB mPulse data plan, text NO350 to 344.

Q. How much will I be charged for subscribing for mPulse Special weekly or monthly data bundles?

A. For the Weekly bundle, you will be charged N50 and the 14-Day bundle will be charged at N150.

Q. What is the validity of the special data bundle?

A. The weekly and monthly special bundles will be valid for 7days and 14 days respectively.

Q. What will I get after subscribing to the special bundle?

A. For the Weekly bundle, you will be credited with 200MB and 700MB for the Monthly bundle.

Q. How do I check my special data bundle balance?

A. You will be able to check your data bundle balance via the following channels:

  • Dialing *559*93#
  • MyMTN App
Q. Can I access all website with the mPulse special data bundle?

A. No, you can only access mPulse Website with the special data bundle.

Q. Can I purchase the mPulse special data bundle multiple times?

A. Yes, you can activate any of the mPulse special data bundle multiples times BUT the data bundles purchased will have its own unique expiry date.

Q. If I have mPulse Special data bundle and regular data bundle active, which bundle will deplete first?

A. If you have mPulse Special data bundle and regular data bundle active, then your browsing on mPulse website will be charged from your mPulse special data bundle and when you have finished the bundle, your data charges while on the website will be charged from your regular data bundle.

However, if you have mPulse Special data bundle and regular data bundle active, then your browsing on other websites will be charged from your regular data bundle and when you have finished the data bundle, your data activity will be suspended until you buy another regular data bundle or opt in for PAYG browsing.

Q. Will my mPulse Special data bundle autorenew?

A. Your mPulse Special data bundle will only auto renew on the day of expiry if you selected ‘Recurrent Purchase’ at the time purchase and as long as you have enough airtime.

Q. What happens if I exhaust my mPulse Special data bundle before the renewal date and do not have any other bundle?

A. As soon as you exhaust your data bundle before the expiry and do not have any other active data bundle, your data access will be suspended and you will not be able to browse again. To continue browsing, you will need to do one of the following:

  • Buy another mPulse data plan by dialling *344*2# to continue browsing on mPulse website
  • Buy another regular data bundle by dialling *131*1# or *904#,
  • Borrow data by dialling *606#
  • Opt-in for a Pay As You Go browsing by dialling *131*200# to continue browsing from your airtime at N3.07/MB
Q. Will I be able to rollover my unused main data bundle?

A. Yes, you will be able to roll over any unused main data bundle as long as you buy another bundle before the current bundle expires or within the allowed grace period after the bundle expires BUT you will NOT be able to rollover any unused data bonus.
Below is the breakdown of the applicable rollover period per bundle plan:

Q. What will happen if I do not renew my expired bundle after the rollover period?

A. If you fail to renew your expired bundle after the rollover period, all your unused bundle will be cleared.

Q. I have 500MB left after my bundle expired. Will I be able to use it within the rollover period?

A. No, you will not be able to use it within the rollover period until you renew the bundle or purchase another bundle of the same category.

Q. Will I be able to rollover my unused data bonus?

A. No, you will not be able to roll over any unused data bonus even if the bundle auto-renews before expiry, upon expiry or within the applicable rollover period.

Q. Can I share my MTN mPulse Special Data bundle?

A. No, you will not be able to share your mPulse Special data bundle.

Q. Will I be able to browse from my airtime automatically after exhausting my data bundle?

A. You will be able to browse from your airtime after exhausting your data bundle BUT you will be required to opt in before you can browse from your airtime at Pay As You Go rate.

Q. How do I opt in for PAYG browsing?

A. To opt in for PAYG browsing, simply;

  • Dial *131*200#.
  • Send RESET to 131.
Q. How much will I be charged for browsing from my airtime after opting in for PAYG browsing?

A. Your browsing from your airtime will be charged @N3.07/MB.

Q. Will I be charged for opting in for PAYG browsing?

A. No, you will not be charged for opting in for PAYG browsing.

Q. How do I opt out of PAYG browsing?

A. To opt out of PAYG browsing, simply

  • Dial *131*200#.
  • Send SUSPEND to 131.
Q. How can I stop auto renewal of my special bundle?

A. You can stop auto-renewal by sending the opt-out keyword NO350 to 344 for weekly bundle or NO351 to 344 for 14-Day bundle.

Q. How much bonus will I receive on my recharge?

A. You will receive 25MB for WhatsApp ONLY on your first recharge of N100 in a month and also Free 10MB on N100 recharge or 20MB on N200.

Q. What is the validity of the free data bonus on recharge?

A. The free data bonus after recharge will be valid for 7days.

Q. Will I be able to use the free data bonus to browse all website?

A. Yes, the free data bonus will be used to browse all website.

A. Your WhatsApp charges will be charged first from the WhatsApp bonus, then WhatsApp bundle after which it will be deducted from regular data bundle.

Q. Who is eligible to receive the free N200 airtime birthday reward?

A. Only mPulse customers that are between 9 and 15 years are eligible to receive the free N200 airtime birthday reward on the day of their birthday. However, after your 15th birthday, you will not be eligible to receive the free N200 airtime bonus again on the day of your birthday.

Q. How many times will I receive the N200 birthday reward?

A. You will be able to receive the birthday bonus ONCE a year and on the day of their birthday.

Q. What do I need to enjoy the birthday reward?

A. To enjoy the birthday reward, you will need to provide your name and date of birth via the following channels:

  • Upon registration as a student on the mPulse website
  • mPulse page on MYMTN App.
  • Dialling *344# and selecting Birthday Reward
Q. Will I be able to update my birthday details after providing it?

A. No, once you have provided your birthday details, you will not be allowed to change the details again.

Q. Will I be able to transfer my birthday airtime bonus via MTN Share n Sell?

A. No, you will not be able to share your birthday airtime bonus via share n sell.

Q. What are the services that I can use my birthday airtime bonus for?

A. The airtime bonus will be used for National Voice calls, National SMS and Pay As You Go Data.

Q. What is the rate that at which I will be charged for Calls, SMS and Data from my birthday airtime bonus?

A. Your Calls, SMS and Data from your birthday airtime bonus will be charged as follows:

  • National Calls – 15.36k/sec
  • National SMS – N4.10
  • PAYG data - N3.07/Mb
Q. What is the validity of the Birthday reward?

A. The airtime bonus will be valid till 11:59pm of the following day.

Q. As a parent, I want to be transferring from my airtime/data to my child’s number on periodic basis
A. To transfer airtime/data to your child’s number, you will be required to follow the steps below:
Step 1: Dial *344*5*1# and select ‘Add Child Number’. You will be able to add your child via MyMTNNApp or mPulse website.
Step 2: Upon dialling *344*5*1#, you will be required to enter your Child’s number, select Product type (either Airtime Weekly, Data Weekly, Airtime Monthly or Data Monthly), after which you select airtime or data value then your self-care PIN. See table below for airtime and data:

Step 3: Once the system receives your request, it will check to confirm if you have enough airtime to complete your transaction. If you have enough airtime, the transaction will be completed.
Step 4: You will receive a successful transfer message and your child will receive a message informing her/him that she/he received airtime or data from you.
Q. Must I the Parent be on mPulse to enjoy Parent-Child linking service?

A. As the Parent, you can use Parent-Child linking service while all tariff plan EXCEPT mPulse plan BUT your child MUST be on mPulse to benefit from the service.

Q. How many children number can I add to my beneficiary list?

A. You can add up to a maximum of six (6) child numbers to your beneficiary list.

Q. How many parents can a child be linked to?

A. A child can be linked to a maximum of 2 parents at a time.

Q. Will I be charged for using the parent-child link service?

A. No, you will not be charged for using the service.

Q. What are the various data/airtime values that I can select from?

A. You can share any of the following data or airtime value to your registered child:

Q. I am a child and I want to unlink my number from my parent’s number?

A. You will not be able to unlink your number from your parent’s number. It is only your Parent that can unlink you from her/his number.

Q. I am a child, will I be able to link my Parent’s number as my beneficiary?

A. No, you will not be able to link your Parent’s number as your beneficiary but you will be able to send link request to your Parent by dialling *344*5*3#.

Q. I am a parent, can I unlink/change my child’s number from my beneficiary list?

A. Yes, you will be able to unlink/change your child’s number from your beneficiary list.

Q. How many times am I allowed to change my registered child’s number?

A. You will be able to change your child’s number as many times as you link.

Q. Will I be charged for changing my Child’s number?

A. No, you will NOT be charged for changing your child’s number.

Q. How can I view my registered child’s number?

A. You can view your registered child’s number by dialling *344*5*4#.

Q. What product/service can I purchase with the airtime received from my Parent?

A. You will be able to use the airtime for any MTN product/services.

Q. What is the validity of the data bundle/airtime received from my Parent?

A. The airtime does not expire but the data bundle is valid for either 7days or 30days; depending on the validity chosen by your Parent during the transaction.

Q. Will I be able to transfer airtime/data every day to my registered Child?

A. No, you will be able to transfer either airtime or data every 7days or 30days but depending on the frequency selected during the initial transaction.

Q. Will I be able to transfer airtime and data on the same transaction?

A. No, you will be able to transfer airtime and data separately.

Q. I selected Airtime Weekly during my transfer. Will I be able to change it to Airtime Monthly?

A. Yes, simply dial *344*5*4#, select the Child’s number you want to change the frequency, select new Product type, new Product value and then enter your self-care PIN.

Q. Will I be able to receive airtime/data from my Parent if I migrate out of mPulse?

A. No, you will be automatically unlinked from your Parent’s beneficiary list immediately you migrate out of mPulse plan and you will no longer be able to receive airtime/data from your parent.

Q. My Child migrated out of mPulse but has migrated back to the plan; can I transfer airtime/data to the number?

A. Yes, you will have to add the number again to your Beneficiary list by dialling *344*5*2# and then follow through the steps.

Q. How can I get my self-care PIN code for the airtime/data transfer?

A. Simply dial *344*5*8#, then enter the following details:

  • Mother's maiden name
  • Date of birth. E.g. dd/mm/yyyy
  • State of Origin

Once the system confirms that all the information provided are correct, it will send you your self-care PIN.

Q. Will I be able to view my airtime/data transfer history to my Child’s number?

A. You can view your most recent airtime/data transfer by dialling *344*5*7# and the system will display the product shared, amount shared and date of sharing.

What is the MTN mPulse Spelling Bee about?

MTN mPulse Spelling Bee is a spelling competition being organized by MTN Nigeria for students between the ages of 9 and 15 who are on the mPulse tariff plan. The competition comprises 3 rounds:

  • 1st round with 10 spelling questions to be held on the mPulse website mtnonline.com/mpulse. Each spelling question needs to be answered in 20 seconds.
  • 2nd round with 20 spelling questions to be held on the mPulse website for only shortlisted students from the 1st Round. Each spelling question needs to be answered in 15 seconds.
  • Grand finale to be held via a live video conferencing platform.

Q. Exciting prizes! Which of my teachers will be rewarded if I am one of the winners?

A. We are aware students don't do it alone, there is always a teacher supporting them along the way. The reward for teacher is to appreciate the teacher who helped you to prepare for this competition. To be eligible for the award, the teacher must be currently teaching at a primary or secondary school in Nigeria. All students who get to the grand finale will be required to provide the details of the teacher who assisted them in preparation before the grand finale.

A. Unfortunately, no. The school you are currently a student of will be awarded the school prize if you win.

Wow, I’m Interested! How can I participate?

Glad you asked.

  • First, you need to sign up as a student to the mPulse website mtnonline.com/mpulse
  • After you do that, you should see Spelling Bee on your student dropdown menu, i.e. the 3 white horizontal dashes on the top right.
  • Clicking mPulse Spelling Bee from your dropdown menu will open the Spelling Bee page on which you will see the Play button
  • Clicking the Play button will display a practice test which you can take as often as you like
  • When you feel comfortable with the system and confident that you can now take the actual quiz, click Take Quiz to participate in Round 1 of the mPulse Spelling Bee.
  • If the phone number you used to login as a student on the mPulse website is not on the mPulse tariff plan, you will be asked to move your number to mPulse before you can take the quiz. You can dial *344*1# to migrate your number to mPulse.
  • There will be 10 spelling questions. Each question will have the definition of the word and the origin of the word. When you click the Play button, an audio of the word will be played to you. You have 20 seconds to answer each question so speed and accuracy are really key here.
  • As soon as you complete the test, you will get your result. From there you can see which words you spelt correctly and the correct spellings of the ones you didn’t get.
  • Note that you can only take the quiz in one sitting, so make sure to put in your best and have no distractions.

I have participated in the 1st Round, what next?

First of all, well done on completing the first round. We will review the scores of all participants and if you are among the top 1,000 students with the highest scores, you will be invited to the 2nd round of the competition. Otherwise, you won’t receive any further communication from us.

Guess what, I made it to the 2nd round, how do I participate in this round?

Whoop! Whoop!! Congratulations on making it to the top 1,000. This is a great feat and you should be super-proud of yourself. You will participate in this round in the same way you did the first. But you need to use the same student login you used for the first round, otherwise you won’t be able to participate in the 2nd round.

However, for this round, there will be 20 spelling questions. Each question will have the definition of the word and origin of the word. When you click the Play button, an audio of the word will be played to you. You have 15 seconds to answer each question so speed and accuracy are very important here, and you can only take the quiz once. Also, expect tougher words than the ones you got in the first round.

Wait a minute! I got the same score as my friend but they were invited to the 2nd round while I wasn’t.

Yes, this can happen. We will be selecting the top 1,000 students with highest scores based on earliest time achieved. Thus, if your friend completed the quiz before you, even though you got the same score, they will rank ahead of you because they submitted first. So make sure you take the quiz as early as possible because it’s first come first ….shortlisted 😊

It is also possible that we found out that you took the quiz more than once using a different number, or found cheating in another way. This will automatically disqualify you from the competition.

Okay. I have taken the 2nd round quiz & I’m keeping my fingers crossed. What’s next?

If you are among the top 20 students with highest scores, we will ask you to send us your official birth certificate or other official documents that can verify your age like: International Passport, NIMC card, etc. Otherwise, there will be no communication from us.

Alright. I was contacted to send my official document and I have done that. So what’s next?

If your age is verified, you will be invited for the grand finale for a chance to win a whooping N2,000,000 and other amazing prizes. How cool is that?

Really cool. I’m so glad to have made it this far. How do I prepare for the grand finale?

Apart from feeling like a super-fly spelling whiz (as you should, you’ve earned it!), you should start getting familiar with using Zoom as the grand finale will be done live using this platform. Ask your mum, dad or anyone you know who is familiar with the tool to help you practice. Then practice tougher spelling words, because this round will be much tougher than the first 2 rounds.

Hmmm…. So what should I expect in the grand finale?

Are those jitters we hear? You shouldn’t be jittery…you’ve already scaled the first 2 rounds like they were nothing. You have practiced well. You’ve got this!

The grand finale will be in a round-robin elimination format. You will each be asked to spell different words one after the other. The quiz master will call out each word with the definition, part of speech it belongs to and sentence example. Each student will be given a specific amount of time to spell out the word after that. An incorrect spelling by a student eliminates the student from the competition. This will continue until we have the last student standing who will be declared the winner of the competition.

The grand finale may last several hours, so eat and sleep well before then. There will also be break times to allow students stretch. The device camera of each student who is still in the competition is expected to be on throughout the grand finale.

I didn’t make it to the grand finale, can I still watch the proceedings?

Oh yes, you can. The grand finale will be broadcasted live on the mPulse website. You will be able to stream the proceedings, cheer your friend(s) or sibling(s) who are participating on, and also win audience prizes. Details will be on the mPulse website so watch out for that.
